BANGKOK: Thailand's Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra says he is on the verge of taking a 30 percent stake in English Premier League club Liverpool with an investment of more than US$100mil.
Thaksin, a telecom tycoon before he turned to politics, said after a meeting with Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry he expected the club's board to endorse the deal this week.
