LONDON: Sunderland highlighted the financial gulf between the Premier League and First Division yesterday when they announced a huge drop in turnover in the six months following their relegation last season.
However, the club, who are third in Division One and hoping for a swift return to the top flight via the playoffs, managed to make a small profit thanks to the sale of a number of players and reorganisation of the business.
