BIRMINGHAM: Chelsea’s Champions League hopes were given a boost on Monday when boss Claudio Ranieri revealed influential midfield player Claude Makelele could be fit for the club’s semi-final clash against Monaco.
The Blues travel to France for the first leg next week and Ranieri said the French international is expected to travel with the squad despite being stretchered off with a knee injury during Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough.
