AUGUSTA National Golf Club chairman William “Hootie” Johnson announced a change in the Masters' sudden-death playoff format here on Wednesday on the eve of the year's first major golf championship.
The tournament's sudden-death playoff if two or more players share the lead after 72 holes will begin on the 18th hole, Johnson said, not the 10th as in past years.
