Somluck books ticket to Athens Games


GUANGZHOU (China): Thai featherweight boxer Somluck Kumsing, gold medallist at the 1996 Atlanta Games, booked his passage for the Athens Olympics on Tuesday by reaching the final of the second Asian Olympic qualifying competition. 

Somluck scored a 19-13 points victory over China’s Xiong Zao Rong to earn a title clash against North Korean Kim Song-guk, who outpointed Khasanov Abdusalolm of Tajikstan 19-11.
