LONDON: World Indoor 60 metres champion Jason Gardener (pic) has suffered a blow in his preparations for the Athens Olympics after undergoing surgery for a double hernia.
The 28-year-old sprinter developed the problem unknowingly before winning gold in the 60m at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest earlier this month.
