IOC put off decision on transsexual athletes

ATHENS: The IOC put off a decision on Saturday on allowing transsexuals to compete in the Olympics, saying more time was needed to consider all the medical issues.

The IOC medical commission proposed that athletes who have undergone sex-change operations be eligible for the games after hormone therapy and a two-year waiting period.
