SHAH ALAM: The national girls’ volleyball squad managed to down Uzbekistan 3-0 in the last of a five-match friendly series at the Shah Alam City Council Hall here on Monday night.
The girls, who are preparing for the South-East Asian Junior Championship in Singapore on June 21-27, won the match 25-22, 25-19 and 25-11.
The Malaysians lost 1-3 in the first game on Feb 18; won the second game 3-0 the next day; and lost the third and fourth games 0-3 on Saturday and Sunday.
National coach Mohd Shaili Shukor said that the series provided the squad with the opportunity to improve on their technique, stamina and maturity. – Bernama
