LA JOLLA (California): John Daly, seeking his first triumph on US soil in nearly a decade, eagled the 18th hole to seize a one-stroke lead here on Saturday after three rounds of the Buick Invitational.
After lipping out a birdie putt at the 17th, long-driving Daly concluded a four-under 68 round to stand on 13-under 203 after 54 holes, one stroke ahead of fellow American Stewart Cink and two atop compatriot Dennis Paulson.
