Depleted Irish side go into match against France without top player O’Driscoll

PARIS: The last thing Ireland needed after the last walloping they took from France was to go into their Six Nations opener here on St Valentine's Day today without their one world class player, Brian O'Driscoll.

However if they are to win and give themselves another shot at the Grand Slam – which they came so close to winning last year – they will have to do it without the 25-year-old centre, who lost his battle to recover from a hamstring injury earlier in the week.
