MILAN: AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti backed down from a threat to stop his players playing in next week’s international friendlies.
Having raised the prospect of a club versus country row when he was quoted by the Italian media as saying he would fight to stop his players featuring in next week’s friendlies, Ancelotti called Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni later on Tuesday and described his comments as “simply a quip”.
