LONDON: The war of words between Gerard Houllier and Jean-Alain Boumsong intensified on Wednesday when the Liverpool boss said it was the Auxerre player, not he, who had gone back on his word over the French international defender's proposed move to Anfield collapsed.
Houllier branded his compatriot deceitful after Boumsong, now headed for Scottish champions Rangers, said the Liverpool manager had led me up the river.
