LONDON: Manchester United paid debt-laden Leeds United the final instalment of their record £30mil purchase of Rio Ferdinand yesterday, but the £1.5mil payment was less than half of what was due under the contract.
Manchester United said the payment covered the £3.25mil they owed Leeds, adding that they would pay a levy of £75,000 to the Premier League.
