WASHINGTON: Freddy Adu, who is expected to become the youngest player to play a team sport in the United States in more than a century, will make a reported US$500,000 in his inaugural season in the US football league.
The 14-year-old Adu will be the highest paid player in Major League Soccer when he suits up for DC United in Washington, according to Soccer America Magazine. Adu's base salary is US$300,000 but with bonuses it is expected to reach US$500,000.
