MADRAS: Seventh seed David Ferrer of Spain overcame a nervous start to the new season before moving into the second round of the US$400,000 Indian Open yesterday.
The 21-year-old, who made headlines by shocking Andre Agassi in the first round of the Rome Masters last May, beat compatriot Fernando Verdasco 1-6, 7-5, 6-0 in their first round match.
