GENEVA: The International Cycling Union (UCI) on Tuesday fined Italian former world champion Mario Cipollini following an incident in the Ghent-Wevelgem race in April.
The UCI said Cipollini, who rides for the Italian Domina Vicanze team, threw two cans at a motorcycle during the event on Apr 9 and their disciplinary commission fined him 3,000 Swiss francs (US$2,383) for his actions.
