WELLINGTON: New Zealand rugby fan Richard Stannard can take his ball out of the bank, with rugby officials saying the one he snared after the World Cup final last month was not the one used by England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson to kick the winning field goal.
Australian Rugby Union communications officer Strath Gordon said photographs of the ball Stannard snared after the final show it was a practice ball, the Dominion-Post newspaper reported yesterday.
