LONDON: West Brom striker Lee Hughes was charged on Tuesday with causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident following a car crash in which a 56-year-old man died.
The player was due to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court later yesterday where he will face the two allegations.
Hughes, 27, was arrested on Monday following a collision in West Midlands, in which Douglas Graham, a passenger in another car, was killed. He allegedly left the scene after the accident.
West Brom were relegated from the Premiership last season and are now top of Division One. – AFP
