WARSAW: Poland ended Italy's 10-match unbeaten run with a 3-1 victory in a scrappy but entertaining friendly played in sub-zero temperatures here on Wednesday.
Spurred on by a vociferous home crowd, the Poles stormed into an early two-goal lead through Jacek Bak and Tomasz Klos before debutant Antonio Cassano halved the deficit for the visitors before half-time.
