Bahrain looking for win over weakened Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s unbeaten run in the ongoing pre-Asian Cup Group F first-round tournament will be put to severe test against Bahrain at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil tonight.

The home side, bogged down by injury problems and illness to key players, have pulled off unexpected results, defeating Myanmar 4-0 in the opening game on Wednesday and holding favourites Iraq to a goalless draw on Friday. They now lie second in the four-team table with four points behind Iraq on goal difference.
