MOTEGI (Japan): Four-time 250cc champion Max Biaggi powered through to a record lap time yesterday to seize pole position for the weekend's Pacific Grand Prix as champion Valentino Rossi secured third place.
Riding a Honda, the Italian veteran and Rossi's arch-rival pulled off a record lap time of 1:47.696 at the 4.8km Twin Ring Motegi in dry and warm conditions during the final qualifying session.
