PETALING JAYA: Shahrun Nizam Mohd Tamin looks on course for the expert title of the Petronas Sprinta AAM Malaysian Cub Prix championships after his surprise round 6 win in Sepang earlier this month.
The Shell KF Yamaha MIG rider who leads with 105 points, has built up a 20-point advantage over team-mate Wazi Abdul Hamid as the championship moves to Bandar Indera Mahkota, Kuantan for the penultimate round this weekend.
Shahrun who has been racing since 1983 said: “Things just looks great for me at the moment. Winning the race in Sepang was a huge relief. I stand a very good chance for the title now and I am looking forward to keeping up my good run.”
“Of late, we have been making some adjustments on the machine and planning a strategy to optimise our strengths.
“The plan looks good and if properly implemented, we’ll be able to add another silverware to our collection. We’ll give it all we got and hope for the best,” he added.
Riders who are interested to participate can contact Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd at tel: 03-8733 8787 for further information or visit the championship’s website at www.malaysiancubprix.com.
