Irish runner gets two-year ban

DUBLIN: Irish 1,500m runner Geraldine Hendricken has been banned for two years after an out-of-competition test in February showed traces of 19-norandrosterone, a metabolite of a banned anabolic steroid.

Athletics Ireland said on their website on Tuesday that Hendricken, 33, had taken supplements which were not labelled as containing a banned substance and which she did not know to be contaminated.
