LOS ANGELES: Footballs world governing body FIFA have paid China US$1mil as compensation for losing the 2003 womens World Cup, a top FIFA official said on Friday.
Urs Linsi, the general secretary of FIFA, said the money was for salaries and organising costs that China incurred as the original hosts of the World Cup.
