COSTA DO SAUIPE (Brazil): Top-seeded Rainer Schuettler of Germany dispatched Paul Goldstein of the United States 6-0, 6-1 on Thursday to advance to the Brazil Open quarter-finals.
Schuettler will next face Ramon Delgado of Paraguay, whose 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 upset of seventh-seeded Flavio Saretta of Brazil was the first time Delgado has posted two consecutive wins since the same tournament a year ago.
