Greece FA chiefs hit out at match-fixing allegations

ATHENS: Greek Football Federation chiefs on Sunday hit back at allegations made by their Armenian counterparts that they tried to bribe Armenian officials and players into throwing Saturday's Euro 2004 qualifying match between the two countries.

Greece won the crucial Group Six contest 1-0 in Yerevan, but following the match Armenian officials lodged a request with European football's governing body UEFA to investigate alleged attempts to bribe their federation president and several national players.
