GLASGOW: Liverpool striker El Hadji Diouf will stand trial next Thursday for spitting at a Celtic fan during a UEFA Cup quarter-final match in Glasgow last March, court officials said.
The 22-year-old Senegalese star, voted African Footballer of the Year and a veteran of French sides Rennes and Lens, pleaded not guilty of assault when the case first came before Glasgow sheriff court in May.
