Big challenge for locals to win M’sian Open title


PETALING JAYA: The national shuttlers face a lofty challenge to keep a winning trend going in the US$120,000 Malaysia Open, which will be held in Kota Kinabalu from Sept 2-7. 

Malaysians have emerged as the men's singles champion in the last two editions. Ong Ewe Hock beat Indonesian Rony Augustinus in 2001 for his second Malaysian Open title in six years. Last year, James Chua defeated Ewe Hock.
