Daniel grabs two more golds in Macau

PETALING JAYA: Sarawakian Daniel Bego won two more gold medals and cracked a meet record in the Asian age-group aquatics championships at the Macau Olympic Aquatic Centre on Monday. 

Daniel clocked a time of 17:00.67 for the boys' Under-14 1,500m freestyle to erase the old mark of 17:01.03.  

Taiwan's Tang Sheng-chieh collected silver in 17:01.19 and Hong Kong's Lin Wei Hung took the bronze in 17:22.06. 

Daniel took his gold medal tally to three, winning the 200m freestyle in 2:00.83 ahead of Qatar's Abuyousuf Anas (2:03.65) and China's Ban Bao (2:04.26). 

The talented Daniel had won the 100m freestyle event on Monday. 

Malaysia collected two more silvers through Melvin Chua in the boys' Under-14 200m individual medal and James Sandayud in the boys' Under-18 10-metre platform diving event. 

Marellyn Liew bagged a bronze in the girls' Under-14 1,500m freestyle.
