PARIS: Lima Azimi finished more than five seconds behind the field in the 100m but she struck a blow for the women of Afghanistan at the World Athletics Championships here yesterday.
Azimi ran a personal best time of 18.37, which may have been three seconds slower than any athlete has ever run in the championships, but the 22-year-old had never seen a track before.
