KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur International Equestrian Grand Prix 2003, scheduled for Oct 2-5 at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil, is expected to draw the world's best equine riders.
City mayor Datuk Mohmad Shaid Mohd Taufek said yesterday: The effort is one of the main alternatives to attract tourists and help promote KL as a world-class city ... and strengthen its reputation as an international sports destination.
He said after launching the GP logo here that the inaugural event would be able to attract enthusiasts as it was a five-star competition on the Federation Equestre Internationale's calendar.
The main organisers of the event, Asiapromote Ventures Sdn Bhd, said that 30 foreign riders had confirmed participation and they expected to get between 30 and 40 local riders. Bernama
