Souness thrilled to bits with Emerton’s Blackburn bow

LONDON: Australian midfielder Brett Emerton capped a fine debut with a man-of-the-match performance and a goal as Blackburn Rovers hammered Premiership newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers 5-1 at Ewood Park on Saturday.

The ex-Feyenoord player only found out he could play on Friday after the Dutch FA revoked a ban from last season, and Rovers boss Graeme Souness was delighted with his performance.
