Mutu awaits international clearance to make his debut for Chelsea

LONDON: Romania striker Adrian Mutu has received his British work permit but still needs international clearance before he can play for his new club Chelsea in today's Premier League opener against Liverpool. 

Mutu agreed personal terms with Chelsea earlier this week but his £15.8mil (US$25.30mil) move from Parma could not be completed because of a public holiday in Italy on Friday, according to Chelsea's official website.
