ROCHESTER (New York): Europe’s top-ranked player Padraig Harrington decided to play at this week’s US PGA Championship on the advice of his wife’s doctor.
The Irishman’s wife is expecting their first child but, because her doctor said the birth was likely to take place next Monday at the earliest, world number nine Harrington is free to compete in the last of the year’s four majors.
