Italy want EU-wide ban of hooligans attending matches

BRUSSELS: Italy wants a European Union-wide ban on hooligans attending footbal matches, according to draft proposals obtained by Reuters on Monday.

EU states already share information about hooligans ahead of big matches but Rome, which currently holds the EU presidency, wants to ensure that anyone found guilty of “violent conduct” is banned from football stadiums across the 15-nation bloc.
