CARLSBAD (California): World number one Serena Williams underwent surgery on her left knee in Los Angeles on Friday and will miss the US Open which starts later this month.
“I expect a 100% recovery and Serena's speedy return to competitive tennis,” her doctor, Los Angeles orthopaedic surgeon Rodney Gabriel, said in a statement released by Williams's agents IMG.
