Wiggins lands Britain's first title in six years

STUTTGART: A Chris Boardman-inspired Bradley Wiggins won the men's individual pursuit title at the world track cycling championships here on Thursday to end Britain's six-year wait for the gold medal in the event.

Wiggins, 23, clocked 4:18.57 to claim the gold medal that was last won by Chris Boardman (1996), who is still the world record holder in the event and is currently working as a “mentor” to the British team.
