Former great Stewart attacks deadline on Silverstone

LONDON: Former motor racing great Jackie Stewart on Tuesday dismissed as unrealistic the ultimatum imposed by F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone on the owners of Silverstone to find the £40 million (US$64 million) required to carry out essential improvements.

Silverstone's future as the home of the British GP is in jeopardy unless the multi-million pound upgrade is carried out, with Ecclestone giving the Northamptonshire track just four weeks to come up with the cash.
