KUALA LUMPUR: High jumper Ahmad Najwan Aqra of Terengganu came closest to earning a place in the team for the SEA Games on the second day of the national junior athletics championships at the National Sports Council (NSC) training track in Bukit Jalil here yesterday.
The 18-year-old Ahmad won the boys high jump event by easily clearing 2.10m, but failed in his attempts to go over the qualifying mark of 2.13m.
