THESSALONIKI (Greece): Malaysia were no match for Venezuela who won 88-60 in their opening match at the world junior basketball championship here on Thursday.
Venezuela's 18-year-old forward Kenji Urdaneta was the main hero, scoring 27points to seal the victory over the hosts since Malaysia were supposed to host the 16-nation tournament in Kuala Lumpur before it was moved to Greece because of fears of SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome).
