MAGNY-COURS (France): David Coulthard said on Sunday that his embarrassing pit stop gaffe at the French Grand Prix cost him third place in the race and with it a lifeline in the championship.
The McLaren driver had fought his way up to third spot when he came into the pits for the final time but a problem with the fuel rig, as well as an aborted get away, ruined the Scotsman’s chances of a podium finish as he eventually came home in fifth.
