Wie to test Sorenstam after winning national title


GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP (New Jersey): Michelle Wie, the 13-year-old Hawaiian who has stunned the women’s golf world, follows up her first national title by challenging Annika Sorenstam and the LPGA Tour’s finest golfers. 

Wie outlasted Thailand’s 21-year-old Virada Nirapathpongporn, a former United States collegiate champion, for a 1-up victory Sunday to win the Women’s Amateur Public Links crown, the youngest champion in its 27-year history.
