MOSCOW: Oleg Romantsev, who has coached Russian soccer champions Spartak Moscow since the fall of the Soviet Union, was fired as head coach on Thursday.
Romantsev has steered Spartak to nine championships since 1991 and to victory in the Russian Cup last week.
