HARRISON (New York): Briny Baird is trying to become the latest little-known golfer to make a name for himself at the PGA Buick Classic.
Baird fired an 8-under-par 63 here on Thursday to open a three-stroke lead over Joey Sindelar and US Open champion Jim Furyk after the first round of the US$5mil event at the Westchester Country Club.
