Japan simply too good for the Kiwis

SAINT-DENIS (France): Reggina striker Shunsuke Nakamura scored twice to lead Japan to an important 3-0 victory over New Zealand in the opening Confederations Cup Group A match yesterday.

Nakamura opened the scoring for Japan just 11 minutes into the match, chasing a long pass across the goalmouth from Parma midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata before firing a wide angle shot that edged inside the left post past Kiwi goalkeeper Mike Utting.
