Briton Henman surprised by high seeding

LONDON: British number one Tim Henman admitted yesterday he was “pleasantly surprised” after being seeded 10th for next week’s Wimbledon championships.

Henman is currently ranked 29th in the world but his grass court pedigree, and having reached four Wimbledon semi-finals, has been taken into account by the All England Club’s championship committee.
