BIRMINGHAM: Maria Sharapova, the leggy Russian blonde whose on-court screams have driven opponents and officials to distraction, moved quietly into the quarter-finals of the DFS Classic here on Thursday.
The 16-year-old from Siberia swept past 11th seed Marie-Gaianeh Mikaelian of Switzerland 6-0, 7-5 to follow on from her second round win over world number 23 Nathalie Dechy on Wednesday.
