THE US Open has only gone to a Monday playoff twice in the last 10 years, although the odds go up in Chicago especially at Olympia Fields.
The last time an Open was held at Olympia was in 1928, when Johnny Farrell beat Bobby Jones in a 36-hole playoff. The last major played at Olympia was the 1961 PGA Championship, which Jerry Barber won in an 18-hole playoff.
