KUCHING: Sarawak snatched a 1-1 draw against league leaders Perak in their Premier I match at the Sarawak Stadium here last night.
Playing a fast-attacking game, Perak went on rampage almost throughout the match but failed to build on an early lead from V. Saravanan's seventh minute goal.
Saravanan slammed the ball in after catching Sarawak goalkeeper Mohd Firdaus Ishak out of position.
In fact, Perak had a peek at goal as early as the first minute when former national striker Khalid Jamlus played a one-two with Saravanan but the latter's effort went wide.
The home team made sporadic raids but Sapian Wahed and Robert Eshun failed to find the target.
In the second half, Sarawak regained their composure to somewhat curb Perak's attacks.
Sarawak brought in rookie Hasdi Ramli but his inclusion failed to make much difference to the team.
Eshun finally scored the equaliser from the penalty spot in the 88th minute. – Bernama
