MONACO: Monaco's Prince Albert said on Thursday the principality would act to help its debt-ridden football club and prevent its relegation to the French second division on financial grounds.
The seven-times French champions, who finished second in the French Ligue 1 this season and won the League Cup, were demoted to Ligue 2 on Wednesday because of debts estimated at 53 to 87 million euros (US$62.42-102.5mil).
